Meseret Mamo Bazezew

Meseret M. Bazezew is a researcher holding an MSc in Biostatistics from Stellenbosch University, Cape Town, South Africa (2022). She also earned a master’s degree in public health from the University of Gondar, Ethiopia, and a bachelor’s degree in statistics from Addis Ababa University.

Meseret served as a Biostatistical consultant at Stellenbosch University for a year before embarking on her Ph.D. journey in the Psychiatric Genetic Epidemiology group (led by Alexandra Havdahl) at Nic Waals Institute, Lovisenberg Diakonale Sykehus, Oslo, Norway. Her research focus is on addressing common statistical challenges in developmental genetic epidemiology, particularly the issue of missing data.

With over five years of experience as a research assistant, Meseret has contributed to various health-related research. Her primary areas of interest include applying diverse statistical methodologies to health studies, such as clinical trials, survival analysis, longitudinal analysis, handling missing data techniques, and Generalized Linear Models (GLM).  She is familiar with statistical software, including R, STATA, SAS, and SPSS. She has also developed an interest in data science. Her goal is to leverage research for solving global health issues.

Outside of her professional pursuits, Meseret enjoys spending her free time engaged in outdoor activities and connecting with nature.
